During the marathon event, the banners are displayed on frames throughout the designated route. After the event concludes, Swabhimaan volunteers take on the responsibility of removing the banners from the frames. They carefully detach the banners without damaging them and then transport them to the godown.
At the godown, the banners undergo a process of upcycling and recycling. The flex material from the banners is repurposed to create recycled bags.
The bags are designed to be reusable, environmentally friendly alternatives to single-use plastic bags.
By diverting the banners from ending up in landfills, we aim in showcasing a circular approach to waste management and contribute to the reduction of plastic waste.
